A Bit About Us

Tracey is an artist, illustrator, sewist, and potter. She discovered pottery when a friend invited her to a “Groupon” pottery class. She would attend that introductory class again, then take the 6-week course, then get a membership at the studio. That class changed her life and she is working toward becoming a full-time potter.

Tracey loves animals and has 3 beautiful rescue kitties and a very handsome turtle. She hopes to one day expand their family with dogs and goats and plans to volunteer at local animal shelters when she retires.

Tracey also loves working the land; growing flowers, fruits, and vegetables. She enjoys preserving, pickling, and canning what they grow. Her favorite recipes include fermented cucumbers, Indian chutney, and blackberry jam.

Jon is a builder, brewer, and engineer. His pursuits have included woodworking, soap making, and home brewing. Recently he tried his hand at tapping the big leaf maples on their land, and made some very tasty syrup!

Jon enjoys working the land and caring for the many fruit trees in their small orchard. He works very hard to keep the trees healthy and hopes to host blue orchard bees. Jon loves harvesting blackberries and rhubarb and making fruit jams and compotes. He is excited about expanding their farm and looks forward to adding ducks to their little family.

Together they work hard to keep the land healthy and hospitable to native flora and fauna. They recently trenched a swale that diverts water from a culvert to a small creek that flows at the western edge of their property. This creek feeds a larger watershed that is also a salmon run. They continue to work hard to ensure the health of the trees on their property and to provide water to the ecosystem to sustain salmon and orcas in the sound.

They’re working on reducing noxious weeds and planting native trees, shrubs, and flowers. They try to keep the land welcoming to the many pollinators, bats, birds, rabbits, deer, and coyotes with which they share their home.

They dream of sharing their bounty and creativity with their neighbors at craft fairs and farmers’ markets. Tracey hopes to sell her pottery, pickles, and jams, as well as fresh flowers and produce. They donate anything they can’t use to local food-share programs.
