My aesthetic is on the darker side, with more than a little whimsy and a touch of the macabre. I love dark jewel tones and autumn colors. I’ve never met a gourd I didn’t like. Give me owls and bats and moths and… bunnies? Yes.
I love the challenge of being true to the period of a 1912 farmhouse, but not giving into the cliche butter yellow or ditsy prints. For decor I’ve gone a bit witchy with a focus on nature and the elements, lots of pottery (of course), hand crafted items made of wood, paintings that feature bunnies and ravens, trees and ferns, and shadowboxes with moths, bones, dried flowers and found objects.
Here’s a gallery of my spoopy farmhouse, which is a work in progress, but much loved at every moment.
